We utilise 304 Stainless Steel as our base metal on our jewellery, which are generally considered hypoallergenic for most people.

However, we will not encourage if you are hypersensitive to nickel and iron, as they do contain a low percentage of them.

304 Stainless Steel are highly resistant to corrosion and rust. We have test proof most of the jewellery, and they are great to be worn in tropical climate.

In some circumstances, other plated metals are also used, these will tarnish in contact with air, humidity, perfume, and perspiration.

Other materials like ornamental beads and leather parts are synthetic, unless stated otherwise.

You will also find material specification stated on each of the product descriptions. We can assure that the silver steel is the most durable one.

Gold steel is usually vacuum plated, and though they aren't prone to tarnishing, you should still make sure to keep them away from any abrasive contact and long term exposure to humidity in order to preserve the coating.

It will be all right if you have forgotten to remove them for your shower. Also if you find it comfortable, you may also go to bed with them.

Ultimately the best way to care for your jewellery is to keep it in a clean or dry place and avoid long term exposure to humidity if possible. Both chlorine and salt water can lead to some major tarnish, so those two are best to avoid. You may like to clean the accessory before storing them into the zipper pouch with a clean, dry cloth.

We stand behind the quality of our work, and with proper care, your accessory should last you for many years to come. However, an accessory is by no means indestructible. Please do not put your jewellery too far through the wringer without consequence. Should you require a repair, please contact us with a description of what happened and we'll be happy to get you fixed up. If the repair is a result of undue wear and tear, a small repair fee will apply. Find out more at Repair Services or speak to us via the contact form.

We lean towards the concept of creating clean finishing for most of our products, hence most styles do not have extension rings. However, we also understand that one size does not always fit all.

The size conversion below will help you establish your ideal size for YARD YARN's jewellery. Please note this is an approximate conversion guide. For further information or advice, feel free to contact us.
