At YARD YARN, we use 304 and 316 stainless steel — chosen for its durability, corrosion resistance, and suitability for everyday wear in tropical climates. Naturally hypoallergenic for most, it may contain trace amounts of nickel; we advise care for sensitive skin.

Silver steel pieces are left uncoated for maximum durability, while gold-toned designs are vacuum plated for a refined, lasting finish. This process allows for extended colour retention, typically lasting 1–2 years or longer with proper care.

To preserve finish and form, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, humidity, and abrasive surfaces. Some plated components may naturally soften over time with wear. Select designs may include leather detailing, as specified on individual product pages.

We recommend:

— Avoiding chlorine and salt water
— Wiping dry after wear
— Storing in a clean, dry pouch

Most of our designs can be customised within 2 to 3 inches at no additional charge. If you're searching for a specific length, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to assist. For other customisation requests, please contact us for applicable fees.

We favour a clean, uninterrupted finish across most designs — which means extension rings are often intentionally left out.

However, we understand that fit matters. We've indicated the size guide within each product listing with an approximate conversion to help you find your ideal YARD YARN piece.

BRACELETS — For the right fit, we recommend adding 1 inch to your wrist measurement. If you’re between sizes, please include your wrist size at checkout for us to adjust accordingly.

For slimmer chains, a 0.5-inch allowance is usually ideal. Custom details can be entered during the checkout process with a message in the following format:

[Name of Bracelet]: Wrist measurement: 6.5" or Preferred Length: 7.5"

NECKLACES — Prefer a different length? Most designs can be adjusted by 2–3 inches, complimentary with every order.

Note: All measurements are in inches with 1 inch to 2.54 cm.

RINGS — Our rings follow standard US sizing. The most common sizes for women are US 6 or US 7, while for men are US 9 or US 10. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort. Tip: No tape measure? Use a thread or a narrow strip of paper to wrap around your finger and measure the circumference.
